The time discretitation
The continuation of the autor's programme dedicated to integrating contemporary art into the church.
The life of a layperson in the Russian Orthodox Church is very festive. Every service in which they take part—by attending church and stepping away from the hustle and bustle of the world to embrace true life — is dedicated to a particular feast day in the annual liturgical calendar. The discrete flow of the Church’s ‘festive’ time is highly complex, revolving in various circular orbits (daily, weekly) around the principal feast of all Christians, the Resurrection of Christ, or Easter. There are the Twelve Great Feasts and the Great Feasts, the major and minor feasts, the patronal and local feasts, the movable and immovable feasts, the feasts of the Mother of God and those of the Lord... A veritable cosmos.
